Video about homebirth and midwifery in Iowa

A few UI film students made this great video about homebirth and midwifery in Iowa featuring a FOIM meeting, myself, and Monica Brasile.

I gave birth to my daughter at home on Feb 24th and it was fantastic, I'm happy to say!!

Our Mission

Friends of Iowa Midwives is a statewide, grassroots organization working to promote access to midwifery and out-of-hospital birth in Iowa, protect the rights of Iowa women to choose their place of birth and birth attendant, provide education about childbirth options, and create supportive community for birthing women and families.

Our current legislative campaign aims to license Certified Professional Midwives in Iowa.

We are part of the National Birth Policy Coalition and the Big Push for Midwives
